This role will report into the Director/ Principal Architect, work closely with the Product Team.
Responsibilities :
– Collaborate with Product managers, UX/UI and Backend teams to design, build and deploy multiple android mobile apps.
– Take design inputs from product designer and quickly build prototypes, MVP, final version to be deployed in production.
– Will monitor usage, performance and error handling/ bugs in android apps deployed in production.
– Will fix issues in android mobile apps, deploy fixes in production.
Required Skills & experience :
– 3-5 yrs experience developing android mobile apps for consumer products
– Hands-on experience in developing native and hybrid android apps.
– Hands-on experience with Java, Android Studio, Kotlin, Android SDK, SQLite, Gradle.
– Mandatory- Hands-on experience in Kotlin.
– Should have experience in working at the level of hardware resources of phone (mic, audio, camera etc.)
– Should have experience with common Android libraries like Retrofit, OkHttp, RxJava, Gson, Arch-components and android concepts like Custom Views, Accessibility Services, background processing APIs.
– Good understanding of UI design principles and developing intuitive & pixel perfect interfaces/ user experiences.
– Hands-on experience with setting up & running test automations, A/B experiments, analysis.
– Good debugging experience, including identifying memory leaks, performance bottlenecks, and using tools like adb, proguard, etc.
– Experience in Android testing frameworks/ tools (Espresso, Mockito, jUnit), writing unit test cases.
– Experience with relational (SQLlite, etc) and NoSQL databases.
– Good to have- experience in deploying android apps on aws cloud (using AWS amplify, etc).
– Hands-on experience on using Clean architecture, MVVM
– Has worked with Git in a CI/CD environment
– Would be advantageous if have experience in building products in startups and early stage companies.
